Horizontal Directional Drilling Under Roadway
This project involved installing underground conduit beneath a busy roadway to extend the fiber network to the other side. Because the road carries heavy traffic, the crossing was completed using horizontal directional drilling.
Our crew set up the drilling equipment and completed the bore from one side of the roadway to the other, allowing the installation to stay fully underground without affecting the road surface or traffic flow.
After the bore was completed, conduit was pulled through the drilled path and prepared for fiber placement as part of the network expansion. The result was a clean underground crossing that allows the fiber network to continue across the roadway while keeping the surrounding infrastructure undisturbed.
