Horizontal Directional Drilling Under Roadway

This project involved installing underground conduit beneath a busy roadway to extend the fiber network to the other side. Because the road carries heavy traffic, the crossing was completed using horizontal directional drilling. Our crew set up the drilling equipment and completed the bore from one side of the roadway to the other, allowing the installation to stay fully underground without affecting the road surface or traffic flow.

After the bore was completed, conduit was pulled through the drilled path and prepared for fiber placement as part of the network expansion. The result was a clean underground crossing that allows the fiber network to continue across the roadway while keeping the surrounding infrastructure undisturbed.

Scope of Work

The goal of this project was to install underground conduit beneath an active roadway using directional drilling methods.

Reliable Underground Road Crossing

Directional drilling allows telecom infrastructure to pass beneath roads and other obstacles while keeping the surface intact. By installing conduit through the drilled path, the network can safely expand without disrupting surrounding infrastructure. This installation created a protected pathway for future fiber cable while maintaining the condition of the roadway above.
